At the Madrazzo Gallery
An exhibition of fifty-nine paintings by Constance Del Vecchio-Maltese including Portraits, Landscapes, Still Lifes in oils, pastels and multi-media covered the ballroom-size gallery housing the original Raimondo de Madrazzo twenty-one foot mural of "Columbus At the Audience of Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand"
REBECCA'S ESCAPE - one of the most recent paintings-a Triptych in oil 96"x36" depicting a young girl's determination to escape into her own world of make-believe in spite all the activity around her.  The scene is one that surrounds Constance's studio in the Catskills.  The children are her Grand Children and Children.  The family pets are enjoying the action as well.
A program was held to bestow honors to Constance Del Vecchio Maltese, Lisa Rosen, Rose Sproviero (Director of Italian Charities) and of course Raimondo de Madrazo.  An overflowing crowd was on hand to witness the unveiling and partake of the festivities.

Senator Serphin Maltese (Constance's husband) greets the audience and welcomes them to Italian Charities.
A surprise discovery was made by Lisa when she started restoring two the many studies by Madrazo.  There were two paintings beneath the studies on separate canvases. It is thought that perhaps they were paintings by students of the Master.
The former Queens Borough President the Hon. Clare Shulman addressed the audience

The honorable Clare Shulman stands in front a painting of her daughter, one of the American Women (Dr. Ellen Shulman Baker). Her daughter was one of the fortunate Astronauts to travel into space. Ellen is depicted with Amelia Earhart, as they represent Women in Aviation.
Hon. Robert Hanophy and Christine Hanophy pose next to the Judge's portrait to confirm the likeness.
