Each of these Women is in this series because of their expertise in their particular chosen field of endeavor. They were done so as to emphasize not only their proficiency but also to indicate that they came from all walks of life. Women are not only outstanding for being great homemakers and mothers, but excel as well in professions that were at one time reserved only for men.
As an artist I was concerned that the canvas should exhibit the woman chosen in her best light, and to execute the composition and technique of the painting in a painterly fashion.
I also went about trying to choose women from different ethnic backgrounds to demonstrate a diversity of individuals.
There are nine canvases. All are approximately 36"x 48" in ratio and most contain a "Legend" surrounding them.

1.WOMEN IN AVIATION past and present -

Dr. Ellen Shulman Baker seen in her NASA spacesuit in front of the Shuttle lifting off to space, with Amelia Earhart next to her Lockheed Plane - the plane she was reported to have disappeared with.
2.WOMAN IN FINANCE (Oil on Canvas)
Ms. Joyce Lim Mother and Financial Expert seen on a green backdrop with her head in an oval mimicking a George Washington Dollar. Her name written in Chinese Letters can be seen along with Asian decorative border.
3.GRANDMOTHER (Pastel on Paper )
Ms. Sally Master A Woman devoted to being a housewife, mother, then Grandmother looking back on her life with contentment as she sits by the light of the window completely fulfilled.
4.THE SENATOR (Oil on Canvas)
Ms. Olga Mendez. Showing the many faces of Olga (the Senator). The main image is Olga at her best as she speaks with dramatic emphasis at a public rally -in her office in deep thought -
and on the phone, communicating with her constituents. As she is a Native Puerto Rican, there is a Coat of Arms depicting that derivation.
5.CHAMPION RUNNER (Oil on Canvas)
Ms Marie Palminteri - Marie, shown comfortably in her running outifit wearing her medals proudly around her neck. She is a very confident woman indeed as shown in both her body language and determined facial expression.
6.WOMAN FOR ALL SEASONS

Dr. Anne Paolucci The main image of Anne is shown looking at her own image in an oval frame. She is depicted showing her many accomplishments over the years in the busy legend around her.
7.WITH LOVING CARE (Oil on Canvas )
Ms. Yvonne Plummer Head nurse in charge of the Childrens' Division dealing mostly with Aids Patients. She is shown with a group of children around her of different ethnic backgrounds and varying ages.
8.MOTHER AND DAUGHTER

Ms. Victoria Vattimo with her daughter Alexandria. Although Victoria is head Press Secretary for the New York Senate, she is a devoted Mother as depicted in this tender portrayal of a Mother's love.
9. ALEXANDRIA'S FIELDS .

A continuation of the previous painting to further explain the lovely environment in which they are occupying. This lovely and colorful field of flowers was so enchanting, I felt it necessary to linger longer..so did Alexandria
